Before you hire anyone
Christmas light installation is a seasonal business, which means the quality range is wider than in most trades. Some companies are year-round lighting specialists. Many others are landscapers, window cleaners, or gutter crews filling their fourth quarter — some of them excellent, some of them hanging lights for the first time this week.
Three questions separate the two groups faster than anything else:
- Are the lights included, or am I paying labor to hang mine? This alone explains most price differences between quotes.
- Is takedown included, and on what date? Get a window in writing.
- Can you send a certificate of insurance? Any real company sends it the same day.
